Surgeons from Comprehensive EyeCare Partners Affiliate Ophthalmology practices: (Nevada Eye Physicians and Sierra Nevada Eye Center) are the first ophthalmologists in Nevada to implant the new Johnson & Johnson Eyhance Toric intraocular lens for cataract patients.
According to Dr. Rajesh K. Rajpal, Chief Medical Officer and Global Head of Clinical and Medical Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Vision, “TECNIS Eyhance combines low-light performance with breakthrough refractive surface design, providing a new kind of monofocal experience for cataract patients. Additionally, the TECNIS Eyhance Toric II lens is engineered with a new squared and frosted haptic design for added friction inside the capsular bag to treat cataract patients with astigmatism.”
Dr. Surjeet Singh from Nevada Eye Physicians, who implanted the first Eyhance Toric IOL in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 stated, “This IOL gives me the ability to treat astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery. The frosted haptic design decreases the risk of IOL rotation within the capsular bag leading to more accurate outcomes.”
Dr. Robert Wolff from Sierra Nevada Eye Center also implanted the Eyhance Toric IOL on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 and was the first ophthalmologist to implant this lens in northern Nevada.
“I’m honored to be one of the first surgeons in Nevada to bring the Eyhance Toric IOL to our patients at Sierra Nevada Eye Center. The Eyhance lens incorporates an advanced design to provide higher quality vision compared to traditional monofocal and toric IOLs,” said Dr. Wolff.
